  • Introduction

    The Launceston Examiner. Tasmania. 12th July 1883. - DEATH of an Old COLONIST. On the 9th inst., Mr. W. H. Seabrook, an old colonist and well-known resident of Hobart, died at the age of 76. From the Southern Star we learn that he arrived in the colony in 1832, and occupied a prominent position as a builder, and retired in favour of his son, Mr. G. S. Seabrook. He served the city faithfully as an alderman for a period of seven years, and was connected with the Oddfellows' Society ever since his arrival in the colony. Of this body Mr. Seabrook was a Past Provincial Grand Master. Mr. Seabrook leaves ten sons and daughters, all married.

    The Mercury. Hobart. Tasmania. 10th July 1883. SEABROOK. - On July 9, at his residence, Arthur- street, H. W. Seabrook, aged 76 years. The funeral will leave his late residence on Wednesday,11th, at half-past 2 o'clock, when friends are invited to attend.
