He married Molly Roth-Schumpert in 1943, and had children Elizabeth Katherine Roth and Stephen Paul Roth. Herman Roth died at age 57 years old on May 26, 1974 in Marion, Grant County.

Introduction

Herman D. "Jack" Roth 57, former owner of Roth Florist, Inc., died Sunday morning at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion after a long illness. He had been at the hospital since July 1969. Mr. Roth was born in West Lafayette and graduated from West Lafayette High School and Purdue University. He entered his family's florist business after school and was active in it until his illness. During Word War II Mr. Roth served five years with the Army Air Corps as a cryptographer. He was a member of the American Legion and Elks Lodge 143. Surviving are his wife, Molly, A son Stephen, and a daughter, Elizabeth, both at home; and a sister Mrs. Stanley R. (Joan) Jaskunas of Modesto, CA. --Lafayette Journal and Courier -- May 28, l974
