Honor Isabel (Playle) Colman was born in 1870 to John Playle and Euphemia Rose (Birrell) Playle, and had siblings George James Playle, Ellen Rose Playle, John Phillip Playle, Phemia (Playle) Cox, Alice Agnes Playle, Esther Elizabeth (Playle) Moorman, and Margaret Rose Playle. Honor Colman married George William Colman, and died at age 96 years old in 1966.

On March 30th, Texas was readmitted to the Union. And on July 15th, Georgia became the last Confederate state to be readmitted to the Union.

In 1889, when she was 19 years old, on May 31st, the South Fork Dam collapsed. Located in western Pennsylvania, the dam failed - sending more than 20 million tons of water into the towns below it. The flood killed more than 2,200 people in and around Johnstown. The newly formed Red Cross responded to the disaster.
