I have an old studio photograph identified as Ina and Cora WHITEMAN which was taken at the Tandy Studio in Lincoln, IL sometime in the 1890's. The two girls appear to be about 8 - 12 years old at the time the photograph was taken. I believe that this is a photograph of Nina "Ina" WHITEMAN and her sister Cora WHITEMAN and was able to gather the following information regarding the girls and their family:
Nina “Ina” or “Inez” D. WHITEMAN was b. Apr 1883 in Illinois to parents Jacob Marmaduke WHITEMAN (1849-1937) and Lamira or Elmira Frances or Francys KEARNEY (1853-1932). Ina was one of 7 children born to this couple including Emma May “Doll”; Joseph Edward; James Clarence; George Burton; Cora “Cory” Maud; Ina; and Paul Silas WHITEMAN, all born between 1863 and 1889. Ina was married twice, first to William Humphrey CREVISTON (1884-1952) on 29 Aug 1904 in Chicago, IL, and second to William Frederick BECKER (1878-1932) in 1927 in Illinois. Ina died 12 Feb 1964 in Clinton, IL.
Cora “Cory” Maud WHITEMAN was b. 1880 to the same parents and married William Henry SUEDMEIER (1876-1945) on 17 Nov 1898 in Logan County, IL and she died in Apr 1968 and is buried in the McClimans Cemetery in Hallsville, IL.
I am hoping to find someone from their family so that the photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
