Jacob Martin Grabill 1867 - 1944

Jacob Martin Grabill was born on January 14, 1867 in Greenfield Township, Blair County, Pennsylvania United States to Levi Grabill and Margaret Young, and had siblings Emanuel Grabill, Elizabeth Ann (Grabill) Imler, Catherine Grabill, Barbara Ellen (Grabill) Ickes, Samuel Grabill, George Grabill, Mary Anna Grabill, Daniel Lourie Grabill, Margaret Grabill, and Levi Lee Grabill. He married Alice Janette (McConnell) Grabill on April 12, 1894, and they were married until Jacob's death on May 5, 1944. He had children Edgar Arnold Grabill, Francis Levi Grabill, Margaret Catherine (Grabill) Fetter, Stanley Martin Grabill Sr, Bertha Louise (Grabill) Baughman, Theodore Roosevelt Grabill, Warren Herbert Grabill, Violet Elizabeth Pearl (Grabill) Colebaugh, Robert James Grabill, and Harold Chester Grabill. Jacob Grabill was buried at Imler Valley Cemetery in Imler, Bedford County.

    JACOB MARTIN GRABILL Well known resident of Imler and for eighteen years employed at the plant of the General Refractories Company at Sproul, died on Friday at Noon at the Nason Hospital. Death followed a lengthy illness. He was a son of Levi and Margaret Grabill and was born on a farm near Claysburg on Jan. 14, 1867. Surviving are his wife, Alice Jane (McConnell) Grabill and these children: Edgar, Stanley, Warren and Robert, all of Imler, Mrs. Margaret Fetters of Juniata; Mrs. Bertha Baughman of Mount Union; Harold with the United States Army in Italy and Violet, at home, and thirteen grandchildren. He was a member of the Claysburg Church of the Brethren. Friends will be received at the home after 6:30 o'clock Sunday evening.
