Prosecutor to Call For Sanity Check
Test Planned for Farmer Who Killed Four
ONTONAGON, March 20 (UP) - A sanity test was sought today for a 43-year-old farmer who shot and killed his wife and three children and then attempted suicide. Prosecutor Donald Munrose said he would order the test before any charges are pressed against Jalmer Store.
Store, who is in memorial hospital here, admitted shooting his wife, Thelma, 41, and his three children Dorothy, 17, Norman, 1`2, and Sharon, 10, last Wednesday. He said that no argument preceded the shooting. He said "I just picked up the gun and shot them."
The oldest daughter, Dorothy, ran from the house, he said, but he chased her back in and shot her. The two smaller children were found dead in their rooms. Mrs. Store's body was in the doorway of their farm home.
