Her children (in the front)are John Thomas Dossett (the baby,probably), Lucinda Dossett (center), and James Elbert Dossett (on the right on father's knee). Nellie Maund is standing to the left and her brothers (names unknown) are standing behind their mother and stepfather. The baby may be their daughter Martha Jane Dossett and not John Thomas. John Thomas Dossett may have been born a year and a half after this family photo was taken.

John Thomas Dossett is the baby on momma's lap. His mother was Mary T. Woodham Maund Dossett. She was a widow with five children before she married Civil War veteran William James.
Front Row: Martha Jane Dossett is in the center and brother James Elbert Dossett is on daddy's lap. The girl standing to the left is Nellie Maund. The boys in the back are the Maund sons. Sam, Joseph, and William, possibly. They all were presumed deceased before they reached adulthood. The boy on the right is William James Dossett's nephew, John Hiram Dossett. He lost his parents in the Civil War. He did not survive to reach his adult years. Only five of Mary's ten children survived to reach their adult years.

The three young children in the front row are the children she had with William James. The boy on the right is WJ's nephew John Hiram Dossett. John Hiram lost his parents during the Civil War. Older sister Lucinda Maund is not present in the picture. She had married very young and had moved away.
