James Patrick Mills 1884 - 1967

James Patrick Mills of Yarram, Wellington Shire County, VIC Australia was born in 1884 in Gordon, Moorabool Shire County to John George Gordon Mills and Julia Gleeson Mills. He had siblings Patrick Mills, Bridget Mills Hawkins, Ellen "Nellie" Mills, John Francis Mills, Ann Cecelia Mills, Mary Elizabeth Mills, George Thomas Mills, Catherine Mary (Mills) Murphy, Elizabeth Agnes Mills, Patrick Joseph Mills, Joseph Henry Francis Mills, Frederick John Mills, Agnes Mills, Margaret Mills, Kenneth Gordon Mills, Michael Mills, and William Mills. He married Minnie Martin James in 1913, and had children Irene Myrtle Mills, Kathleen Mills Foat, and Marjory Lorna Mills. James Mills died at age 82 years old on July 17, 1967 in Yarram, Wellington Shire County.

In 1884, in the year that James Patrick Mills was born, on August 5th, the cornerstone for the base of the Statue of Liberty - a gift from the people of France - was laid. 120,000 people - most donations were $1 - donated to the completion of the base.
