Introduction

James' father was Filippo Vigneri, 1872-1931, and his mother was Mildred Genziano, 1879-1958. Both parents were born in Sicily. He had siblings Joseph, Mary, Philip, Frederick, Lenora, and private (still living?). James married Anne Rita Maulucci, 1918-2005, and they had Joanne, Patricia, Jeanne, and 3 more daughters, still living. In the 1930 federal census James was 15 and living with his family in Rochester NY. He was going to school. In the household with James and his parents were Joseph, 29, Mary 21, Philip, 17, Frederick, 14, Lenora, 11, and Josephine, 10. The family had a radio set (they asked that in 1930!) and fathe Philip (sic) was a laborer in street construction. Daughter Mary was a "Cementer" in shoe manufacturing. In the 1940 census, James was married and living in Buffalo NY. He was working as a laborer for the WPA (sewer project) and besides his wife Ann (sic) daughters Joanne (6 months) and Berely (sic) (7 months - yes that's what it says!
