Hi, my name is JoAnne Malarz (Prescott), Jim was my dad. i wish i had a memory with him. the only thimg i do remember was the the first and only time i met him and that was when i was 5 years old. And then nothing. i would love to have at least one picture of him and even meet some relatives i know i have out their. I know this wasnt a very good memeory, but it was the only one i had..
I searched for a photo on various genealogy sources and couldn't find one available. I did find a bunch of information that I used to update parts of James' biography. There are photos in a private family tree on Ancestry...hopefully that person finds your comment and decides to share a photo of your father.
Wish you all the best of luck! It might take some time, but typically eventually someone will find your comment and reach out to you.
James Warren Prescott, Route 3, escaped serious injury but the 1949 Dodge auto he was driving was demolished when it crashed into a Chicago Great Western Railway train about a mile west of the American Crystal Sugar Co. plant Wednesday night.
Prescott suffered only a scratch on the forehead and a bruised shoulder. He was not hospitalized. Deputy Sheriff Glenn Kellogg, who investigated the accident, said the Prescott auto was pinned against a steel post beside the roadway. The front of the car was ripped off by the passing train.
Trainmen were not aware of the accident, and continued on to Lake Mills where they were notified. A check of the train showed no damage to the cars. Prescott said he believed he had hit the last three cars of the train.
Prescott told Kellogg that he had left work at the American Crystal Sugar Co. plant, and was headed home when the accident happened at about 10 p.m. He said he did not see the train until it was too late to avoid the crash.
