Janet Eleanor Jessie (Anketell) Learey of Canterbury, City of Boroondara County, VIC Australia was born in 1881 in Prahran, City of Stonnington County to Rodney James Anketell and Elizabeth Hunter Anketell. She had siblings Margaret Elizabeth Ann Anketell, Rodney John Stratford Anketell, George Florence Anketell, and William James Hunter Anketell. Janet Learey married Alfred Ernest Learey in 1906, and died at age 72 years old in 1953 in Canterbury, City of Boroondara County.

In 1881, in the year that Janet Eleanor Jessie Anketell was born, on April 28th, Billy the Kid escaped from the Lincoln County Jail in New Mexico. He killed James Bell and Robert Ollinger in the escape and then stole a horse and rode out of town. On July 14th, Pat Garrett shot and killed Billy the Kid in Billy's friend's home near Fort Sumner, New Mexico.

TR, as he was known, had been Vice-President for 6 months when President William McKinley was assassinated. He was a popular progressive and was elected to a second term in 1904 as a Republican, winning 56.4% of the popular vote and 336 electoral votes.
