    Janet Mary was born on March 2, 1950 and died on Monday, April 6, 2015. As a child she was a joy to all who knew her. The youngest of five children, she was quite precocious, speaking in full sentences at the age of 2. Her big brothers took her on field trips to collect bugs, snakes and other abandoned animals to raise at home. Janet spent a brief time in the U.S. Air Force before a world of problems plagued her. Janet went to a healthcare facility in 2010 after the death of her brother, Donnie. She had a happy attitude and looked forward to visitors. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Donnie & David. She is survived by her mother, Helen Cameron Clifton; Father, Ted Clifton; brother, Richard; sister, Nancy. She also loved her nieces and nephews, Joshua, Jessica, Sam and Cameron.

In 1971, when she was just 11 years old, on May 3rd, 10,000 federal troops, 5,100 officers of the D.C. Metropolitan Police, 2,000 members of the D.C. National Guard, and federal agents assembled in Washington DC to prevent an estimated 10,000 Vietnam War protesters from marching. President Nixon (who was in California) refused to give federal employees the day off and they had to navigate the police and protesters, adding to the confusion. By the end of a few days of protest, 12,614 people had been arrested - making it the largest mass arrest in US history.
