Janet (Tate) Le Lievre 1892 - 1965

Janet (Tate) Le Lievre was born on June 19, 1892 in Katandra, Greater Shepparton City County, VIC Australia to Mary Amelia (Prideaux) Tate and Charles Cole Tate, and had a sister Ruth Ann Tate. She married Norman Le Lievre in 1915, and they were married until death separated them. She had a child Richard Charles Le Lievre. Janet Le Lievre died at age 72 years old on March 2, 1965 in Mooroopna, and was buried at Katandra Cemetery, 716 Lane Rd, in Katandra.

In 1892, in the year that Janet (Tate) Le Lievre was born, on October 12th, the "Pledge of Allegiance" was first recited in unison by students in U.S. public schools. Composed the previous August by Francis Bellamy, it was to be recited in 15 seconds and originally read: "I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." "Under God" was added in the 1950's.
