Jelan Loverna (Rhoades) Petersen of Marysville, Wash. entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on May 10, 2016, at the age of 93. Jelan was born September 16, 1922, in Everett, Wash. to Viola (Ellingsen) Rhoades and Howard Rhoades. She graduated from Everett High School in 1941 and married Daniel Charles Petersen on March 21, 1941. They shared 52 years of happiness before Dan passed away in 1993. Together, they owned and operated Petersen Machine Works in Marysville. Jelan is survived by her two sons, Larry Charles (Barbara Kennedy) Petersen and Gerald Daniel (Sharon) Petersen; her sister, Marjorie Bass; her former daughters-in-law, Jeanne (Bruseth) Petersen and Diane (Gilman) Petersen. She also leaves six granddaughters: Jeina, Kathie, Jelan, Karen, Tarah, Michelle, 12 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. At her request, there will be no service.
