She was married to Donald Raymond Harris, and had children Douglas Raymond Harris, Trudie Joan Harris Levesque, Margaret Ann Harris (Peggy), Deborah Joan Harris Huntington, and Suzanne Harris Geyen. Joan Harris died at age 71 years old on March 4, 2003 in Wayzata, and was buried on June 21, 2003 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Cemetery in Mound.
