As a foster son of Bertha,for twenty five years I do know many things in her lifetime of devotion to many children as well as adults she unselfishly helped.Other than USNavy Service we resided in the same households untill 1958 when I got married.
Her last years she divided in rest holmes and was with her daughter Dorothy Spies for short stays.
Adults that lived with her for extended period of time.Frieda Shaffrick,Lillian Busse,Clara Cordes....Children,long stayers;Eleanor West,Mary DeSimone,Angelo DeSimone,Leonard Sprinkle,Glen Downes,Connie Downs.There were many more short timers that skip my mind at this late date.
