Johanna Hess was my great-grandmother. Her maiden name was Johanna Van Mistler and she married Henry Hess. She had 3 children, Henry Hess (b 1915 passed in the 2000's, married Evelyn), Gilderde Hess (b 1928 passed in the 2000's, married Ann) and Alida Hess (b 7/16/1913 passed 10/22/2011). Alida was my paternal grandmother and married my grandfather Roland Walgenbach. I never met Johanna but my mom says she was a spitfire of a woman with a quick wit and boisterous laugh. She didn't take c*** from anyone and had a kind heart.
