He married Josephine M (Schmaing) Fritzges, and had a child Joseph Frederick Fritzges. John Fritzges died at age 59 years old in 1944, and was buried at New Cathedral Cemetery 4300 Old Frederick Rd - Plot Section VV Lot 525 Grave 2, in Baltimore, Maryland United States.
