John Alexander Lauchlan Mackinnon was born in 1872 in VIC Australia to Margaret Anne (Macdonald) Mackinnon and Godfrey Bosville Mackinnon, and had siblings Ann Flora Mackinnon, Neil Louisa Mackinnon, William Charles Godfrey Mackinnon, Ann Mary Mackinnon, and Charles Macdonald Mackinnon. John Mackinnon died at age 53 years old in 1925 at Lüderitzbucht in Namibia.
