He had siblings Margaret Annie Taylor, Doris Edna Taylor, Eleanor May Taylor, Albert Edward Taylor, and Grace Carrick Taylor Mccarthy. He married Ada Maria Mcgregor in 1930, and had a child Geoffrey Mcgregor Taylor. John Taylor died at age 63 years old on May 13, 1966 in Footscray.
