John Dillon Fetters 1918 - 1989

John Dillon Fetters of Celina, Mercer County, OH was born on June 27, 1918 to John Lewis Fetters and Martha E. (Now) Fetters. John Fetters had siblings Dale Lewis Fetters, Mary (Fetters) Meyer, Mildred E. (Fetters) Garwood, Norval Chris Fetters, Pearl Savella (Fetters) Zerbe, Minta C. (Fetters) Ellis, Myrtle (Fetters) Evers, and Miriam C. (Fetters) Shirk. He married Donna Dolores (Martz) Fetters and they later divorced. They had children Larry Wayne Fetters and John Keith Fetters. He would also marry Helen M. (Snider) Fetters, and they were married until John's death on August 14, 1989. They had a child Diane Kay (Fetters) Abele.

In 1918, in the year that John Dillon Fetters was born, in January, President Wilson presented his Fourteen Points, which assured citizens that World War I was being fought for a moral cause and outlined a plan for postwar peace in Europe. The only leader of the Allies to present such a plan, the Europeans thought Wilson was being too idealistic. The points included free trade, open agreements, democracy and self-determination. They were based on the research and suggestions of 150 advisors.
