He married Frances Auree (Thomson) Vaughn on June 25, 1949, and had children Carol Ann (Vaughn) Eichler and Linda Sue (Vaughn) Crenwelge. John Vaughn died at age 88 years old on September 13, 2008.

    r. Vaughn was born on October 9, 1919 and passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2008. Mr. Vaughn was a resident of Fredericksburg, Texas at the time of his passing. He was married to Frances. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 15th, at 2:00 P. M. in the Chapel of the Schaetter Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, with Pastor D.G. McCoury officiating. Graveside services and Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery here in Fredericksburg. Visitation for John Vaughn will be from 3:00 to 5:00 P. M. Sunday and from 7:30 A. M. to 2:00 P. M. Monday in the Schaetter Funeral Home in Fredericksburg. Those who so desire may make memorial in his memory to the American Cancer Society , First Baptist Church, or to the charity of their choice.
