John Maikisch was my dad
He was a boxer from Hell's Kitchen NYC. Won the Golden Glove at age 17. Married Irene Bunzel from Bronx, NYC. She was a nurse. They moved to New Jersey and lived in Jersey City, Lodi, Ridgewood, and Waldwick. Had 4 children, Robert, David, James, and June. They divorced in the 1980's. John remarried and retired to Scranton, PA. He died of stomach cancer. He was a good man, and instilled solid values in his children.
