He married Joan Elizabeth (Norman) Roth on January 19, 1946, and had children Susan (Roth) Campbell, Steve Roth, Don Roth, Jerry Roth, and Deb (Roth) Fredericksen. John Roth died at age 93 years old on July 20, 2016.

Son of Albert Herman and Amy Victoria (Peterson) Roth "John Wesley Roth, age 93, of Lake Crystal, died Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health System – Mankato. Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 6, 2016, at the Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 980 South Main Street, Lake Crystal. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be given to Cornerstone United Methodist Church Building Fund. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. John was born September 22, 1922 to Albert Herman and Amy Victoria (Peterson) Roth in Lake Crystal. He graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1940. On January 19, 1946, he married Joan Elizabeth Norman at the First United Methodist Church in Lake Crystal. John farmed his entire life, loving cows and hating pigs, and also worked at Honeymead in Mankato for 20 years before retiring. John was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church where he had taught Sunday school, was past chairman of the administrative board, and a counselor for the United Methodist Youth Group. John and Joan were AFS host parents for Toni Wilcoxon of Victoria, Brazil. He enjoyed bowling, softball, wrestling, traveling of which he had traveled to 9 countries in Europe, fishing, reading, and remodeling for others. John enjoyed his Friday Morning Men’s coffee group at HyVee and he cherished his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their activities and giving them the Dickens." Mr. Roth was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan on March 13, 2012; his brother, Albert; and his brother-in-law, Alvin Meier. Mr. Roth was survived by his five children, Susan (Roth) Campbell, Steve Roth, Don Roth, Jerry Roth, and Deb (Roth) Fredericksen; eleven grandchildren, Kristen Pauly, Josh Campbell, Miah Campbell, Eric Roth, Tom Roth, Mandy Weisbrich, Zac Roth, Zeb Roth, John Roth, Andrew Fredericksen, Megan Fredericksen; eighteen great-grandchildren, Colten Benedict, Evan Pauly, Grady, Bella, Asa, and Lucy Campbell, Grace and Noah Campbell, Cecilia and Lily Roth, Anika, Jonah, and Lydia Weisbrich, Asher and Beckett Roth, Hadley Roth, Penelope and Isaac Fredericksen; sisters, Alberta (Roth) Samuelson, Rozella (Roth) Ward, and Earlene (Roth) Meier; sisters-in-law, Mary Mensing, Beth Norman, Thelma Norman, and Eleanor Roth; and many nieces and nephews.
