2 Memories, Stories & Photos about Joseph

Joseph Waltemyer
Joseph Waltemyer
I have an old studio photograph identified as Mr. Joe WALTERMYER which was taken at the Woodward Studio in Baltimore, MD. The photograph looks to have been taken in the 1880's with Joe likely in his 30's at the time it was taken. I believe that this is a photograph of Joseph “Joe” WALTEMYER, the same man who appears in your own family tree. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Joe and his family:

Joseph “Joe” WALTEMYER was b. 16 Nov 1856 in Stewartstown or Hopewell, PA to parents Isaac WALTEMYER or WALTEMEYER (1835-1857) and Elizabeth “Lizzie” YOUNG. Joe had only one sibling, a twin sister Sarah WALTEMEYER. Joe married twice, first to Eliza Jane “Jennie” MCCULLOUGH (1857-1880) on 14 Jul 1878 in Baltimore County, MD. His second marriage was to Keziah or Kezia or Kesiah Jane ROYSTON (1864-1940) and they had 8 children including Grace Virginia; Vinton Calvin; Cloe or Chloe Millicent; Golden Edward; Joseph Clemens; William Claude; John Henry; and Mary Ann WALTEMYER, all born between 1882 and 1895.

Joe died 5 Jan 1942 in Baltimore City, Maryland and he is buried in the Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.

I’d like to get this photograph to his family and would appreciate you contacting me if you are a member of this family or you know someone who might be.

Thanks,
Shelley
