    Josephine E. Taylor, 82, Lee's Summit, Mo., passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at Lee's Summit Medical Center. Josephine (Jo) was born on April 26, 1926, in Indianapolis, Ind., to Albert and Mayme Bremer. Jo retired from the Lee's Summit School District in 1986. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen H. Taylor, and daughter Deborah K. Taylor. Jo is survived by sons Daryl and his wife Mary of Olathe, Kan., and Daniel and his wife Pennie of Blue Springs, Mo.; six grandchildren: Ryan and Aileen of Kansas City, Mo., Jacob of Kansas City, Mo., Jennifer of Lawrence, Kan., Joel of Blue Springs, Mo., and Zachary of Lawrence, Kan. She is also survived by brother Charles Bremer of Indianapolis, Ind., and sister Ginny Overton of Brunswick, Ohio. Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 1625 W. O'Brien, Lee's Summit, Mo., on Thursday, February 12, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the church beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009. Internment will follow the service at Newcomer's Longview Funeral Home and Cemetery, 12700 S. Raytown Road, Kansas City, Mo. In 1926, in the year that Josephine Bremer Taylor was born, on October 31st, Harry Houdini died in Michigan. Houdini was the most famed magician of his time and perhaps of all time, especially for his acts involving escapes - from handcuffs, straitjackets, chains, ropes slung from skyscrapers, and more.
