James Fred Byington (1944-2019) and they had a daughter Margaret Byington Souder, and a son, Rev. Chad E. Byington. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport, Tennessee and was very active in her church, Bethel Apostolic, in many ways including the Ladies Auxiliary and Care Pastor Ministry. She headed numerous fund-raisers to benefit many different projects in her church. Judy Byington passed away unexpectedly went on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 and is buried at the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

    Judy Gracilla Byington, 57, unexpectedly went to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 11, 2007. She was born December 29, 1949 in Sullivan County and was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. Judy was very active in her church, Bethel Apostolic, in many ways including the Ladies Auxiliary and Care Pastor Ministry. She headed numerous fund-raisers to benefit many different projects in her church. Her parents, Walter and Martha Stewart, a sister, Pauline Stewart Presley, and brother, George Stewart preceded her in death. Surviving are her loving and wonderful husband Rev. James Fred Byington, Kingsport, TN; daughter Margaret Byington Souder and husband Duane Souder, Rising Sun, MD; son, Rev. Chad E. Byington and wife Melissa Byington, Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Lauren, Chase, Jordan, Caleb, and Aaron; her loving siblings, Barbara Price, Gray, TN; Ethel "Mae" Hunt and husband Hubert; Kingsport, TN; Audra Smith and husband Anthony, Kingsport, TN; and many nieces and nephews of whom she adored and loved. Calling hours are 5-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home Kingsport. Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Bethel Apostolic Church with Pastor Garland Tipton, Rev. William Graver, and Rev. Gregg Street officiating. Mrs. Byington will be taken to the church thirty minutes prior to services. Burial will follow at Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Ushers of the church will serve as pallbearers: Coy Tipton, Richard Wilson, Doug Grey, Richard Cleek, John Nelson, Michael Smith, Lynn Keys, and Gene Osborne. Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to: Bethel Apostolic Church Building Fund, 1820 Pinebrook Drive, Kingsport, TN 37660. Honorary pallbearers will be ministers of Bethel Apostolic Church.

Judy Stewart, Fred Byington Wed In Home Ceremony
Miss Judy Stewart became the bride of Fred Byington Jan. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the home of her parents. Rev. Woodward Byrd performed the double-ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stewart, Rt. 1, Fall Branch. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Byington, Rt. 10, Kingsport. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown of white brocade featuring a sheath skirt, and fitted bodice with scooped neckline and long sleeves. Her full-length train was attached at the waist with a large bow of self material. Her shoulder-length veil was held by a crown of pearls, and she carried a bouquet of white carnations. Willie Stewart served her sister as maid of honor. She wore a blue satin dress overlaid with blue lace, and carried a bouquet of white carnations. George Stewart, brother of the bride, served as best man.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the dining room of the bride's parents' home. Mrs. Barbara Price and Mrs. Carl Presley, sisters of the bride, assisted in serving. For traveling, the bride chose a camel colored suit with white carnations. The bride attended Sullivan High School. The bridegroom attended Fall Branch High School and served two years in the U. S. Navy. He is presently employed by Tennessee Eastman Company.
