In 1928, in the year that Julian L Bundalian was born, Mickie Mouse was born! He first appeared in Disney's Steamboat Willie, along with Minnie. Although they were in two previous shorts, this was the first to be distributed. Steamboat Willie took advantage of the new technology and was a "talkie" - music was coordinated with the animation. It became the most popular cartoon of its day.

In 1944, he was 16 years old when on November 7th, Franklin Delano Roosevelt was reelected to a fourth term as President of the United States. Running against Thomas Dewey, Governor of New York, Roosevelt won 53.4 of the popular vote, Dewey got 45.9%.

Kennedy-Nixon Presidential Debate - September 26 1960
Exactly 56 years ago on September 26, 1960, the first ever televised Presidential debate was held between John F. Kennedy and Richard Milhous Nixon. Radio listeners thought that Nixon had won the debate, but the 70 million television viewers (a huge number at the time) thought Kennedy had won. Seeing the candidates made a big difference and Kennedy went on to win the election by a narrow margin. In his later Presidential campaigns, Nixon refused to participate in any debates.
