Karen Jibawi 1854 - 1942

Karen Jibawi was born on May 19, 1854 to Becky Ripley and Dominik Ripley. She married Daniel Jibawi on September 13, 1892, and they were married until Daniel's death on March 14, 1937. She had children Tim Jibawi, Anwar Jibawi, Adam Waheed, and Janet Jibawi. Karen Jibawi died at age 88 years old on December 23, 1942.

In 1883, at the age of 29 years old, Karen was alive when on June 16th, children at a children's variety show in Victoria Hall began rushing the stage area and lobby for promised prizes. In the stampede, 183 children of the 1100 present - most of them 3 to 4 years old - were crushed and asphyxiated.
