    McAlester News-Capital, McAlester, OK February 16, 2007 Karl Edwin ‘Bubba’ Taylor Jr. Karl Edwin “Bubba” Taylor Jr., 50, of McAlester, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, at McAlester Regional Health Center. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Victory Park Baptist Church in McAlester. Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester. Born Feb. 14, 1957, in Oklahoma City, he was the son of Karl Edwin Sr. and Katharin Elizabeth (Tiefel) Taylor. He attended Northwest Classen High School where he played football and graduated in 1975. He then attended East Central University in Ada, where he played football and graduated in 1981 with a degree in environmental science. He married Karla Jean Barlow on Jan. 1, 1982, at Shady Grove Baptist Church. He was employed by the Oklahoma State Health Department and the Oklahoma Department of Environment Quality from November 1981 until his death. He and his family attended Victory Park Baptist Church where he had served as a Sunday school teacher for the past 21 years and as deacon for 18 years. Survivors include his wife, Karla Taylor, of the home; children, Kara D’Ann Taylor, of Ada, and Kolten Dale Taylor, of the home; one sister and brother-in-law, Susie D’Ann and Brent Hamilton, of Oklahoma City, and their son, Schuyler Hamilton. Also, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Susan Green and Judd, of Ada, and Destiny, Austin, Texas, Karen and Vance Petticrew, of Kinta, Brad Jernigen, of Bugtussle, Angela and Kelly Lovell and great-nieces, Maddison and Montana, of McAlester, Jimmy and Lindsey Barlow, Scott and Cody Barlow, of Sand Springs, and Chuck and Mary Barlow, Amy and Anthony Campbell, of McAlester. And, great-grandmother-in-law, Fern Parr, of Shady Grove, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Barlow, Chuck Barlow, Brent Hamilton, Schuyler Hamilton, Vance Petticrew and David Findley. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Victory Park Baptist, George Lindemann, Ron Vickers, Brad Church, Curtis Parham and Eric Goostree. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Losson and Daisy Taylor, and George and Estella Tiefel; nephew, Jordan Hamilton, and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Wanda Barlow. Memorials may be made to the Victory Park Baptist Church Cabin Fund.
