(Kenneth Lorne) Ross Douglas - Middle Adulthood and Later Life
According to Ross's obituary he and his family lived in Winona, Minnesota, from 1933 to 1944.

According to the 1940 U.S. Census, Kenneth Lorne Ross Douglas lived in Lewiston, Minnesota, in 1935. Lewiston was incorporated in 1873 and was the first stop on the Winona-Rochester stagecoach line - an important source of support for travelers (Wikipedia). In 1930 the town had a population of 656 (U.S. Census). Lewiston is 13.5 miles from Winona.

Ross's step-mother, Jane Douglas, died on August 28, 1937.

According to the marriage announcement for Dolores Douglas and James O'Laughlin which appeared in the Winona Daily News on Saturday, June 29, 1946, Ross and Olive Douglas were living in Phoenix, Arizona. It is not certain exactly when the move to Phoenix occurred but it was likely sometime in 1944 which is when Ross was no longer living in Winona, Minnesota.

The census taker for the 1950 U.S. Census noted that Ross was living in Phoenix, Arizona and working as a janitor/maintenance in the wholesale and retail auto parts industry and had worked 48 hours the previous week. None of Ross and Olive's children were living with them at the time although the census record shows a number of lodgers were living at their residence. Olive was working as a rooming house proprietor. The number of hours she had worked in the week previous to the census were 40. Their address was 325 N. 4th Avenue.

Ross and Olive's daughter Delores died on January 25, 1962.

Kenneth Lorne Ross Douglas died on February 27, 1964, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, when he was 71 years old. He passed away at the Glen Lake Sanatorium located in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States of America. Glen Lake Sanatorium, a tuberculosis treatment center serving Hennepin County in Minnesota, opened on January 4, 1916. It is likely Ross and Olive had moved to Phoenix for the drier air to help with Ross's lung issues.

Ross is buried at Witoka Cemetery in Wilson Township, Winona County, Minnesota, USA.
