She was married to Kenneth Lorne Ross Douglas on January 12, 1914 in Duluth, St. Louis County, and they were together until Kenneth's death on February 27, 1964. She had a child Alice Marie (Douglas) Lex. Olive Douglas died at age 86 years old on July 29, 1981 in Winona County.

Her paternal grandmother, Lucinda (Sanford) White Johnson, was born in Hopkinton New York. Olive's roots outside the United States are unknown although according to my father, David Lex, she was of English descent.

    Olive Douglas Funeral services for Mrs. Olive M. Douglas, 86, 1102 E. Sanborn St., who died Wednesday (July 29, 1981) in Community Memorial Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Fawcett Funeral Home. The daughter of Silas and Miranda Ford White, she was born Oct. 12, 1894, in Carlton [Minnesota]. She married Kenneth L. Ross Douglas, Jan. 12, 1914, in Duluth [Minnesota]. He died Feb. 27, 1964. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Phoenix, Ariz., and the Independent Order of Foresters. Survivors are: son, Marvin, Winona; three daughters, Mrs. Ludwig (Alice) Lex, Two Harbors, Mrs. Glen (Elaine) Sanders, Libertyville, Ill., and Mrs. Ivan (Betty) Robinson, Oxford, Conn.; 23 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Lillian Hulverson, Crosby. Two sons, a daughter, five brothers and two sisters also have died. The Rev. Kenneth Willard, McKinley United Methodist Church, will officiate at the service, with burial in Witoka Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home where a devotional service at 8:45 will be lead by Deacon Glen Sanders. A memorial is being arranged. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Ross, Carl and Kenneth Douglas, Kevin and Kim O'Laughlin and Dale Lex. [Note: Olive Douglas had 6 great-grandchildren at the time of her death, not 3.]

Olive (White) Douglas - Middle Adulthood and Later Life
According to her husband Ross's obituary, Olive and her family lived in Winona, Minnesota, from 1933 to 1944.

According to the 1940 U.S. Census, Olive lived in Lewiston, Minnesota, in 1935. Lewiston was incorporated in 1873 and was the first stop on the Winona-Rochester stagecoach line - an important source of support for travelers (Wikipedia). In 1930 the town had a population of 656 (U.S. Census). Lewiston is 13.5 miles from Winona.

According to the marriage announcement for Dolores Douglas and James O'Laughlin, which appeared in the Winona Daily News on Saturday, June 29, 1946, Olive and Ross Douglas were living in Phoenix, Arizona. It is not certain exactly when the move to Phoenix occurred but it was likely sometime in 1944 which is when Ross and Olive were no longer living in Winona, Minnesota.

The census taker for the 1950 U.S. Census noted that Olive and Ross were living in Phoenix, Arizona. Their address was 325 N. 4th Avenue. Ross was working as a janitor/maintenance in the wholesale and retail auto parts industry and had worked 48 hours the previous week. None of Ross and Olive's children were living with them at the time although the census record shows a number of lodgers were living at their residence and that Olive was working as a rooming house proprietor. The number of hours she had worked in the week previous to the census were 40.

Olive and Ross's daughter Delores died on January 25, 1962.

Olive's husband, Ross Douglas, died on February 27, 1964, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, when he was 71 years old. He passed away at the Glen Lake Sanatorium located in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States of America. Glen Lake Sanatorium, a tuberculosis treatment center serving Hennepin County in Minnesota, opened on January 4, 1916. It is likely Olive and Ross had moved to Phoenix for the drier air to help with Ross's lung issues. Ross is buried at Witoka Cemetery in Wilson Township, Winona County, Minnesota, USA.

Olive's son, Donald Russel Douglas (1916–1971), died on January 21, 1971 in Winona, Minnesota.

Olive May (White) Douglas died on July 29, 1981, in Winona, Minnesota, when she was 86 years old. 1102 E. Sanborn St., Winona, Minnesota was her given address when she died. Olive died 17 years after her husband, Ross. She is buried at Witoka Cemetery in Wilson Township, Winona County, Minnesota, United States of America, alongside her husband.

According to the 1905 Minnesota State Census, Olive was living in Twin Lakes Township in Carlton County, Minnesota. She was 8 years old at the time.

According to the 1910 U.S. Census, Olive May White, age 15, lived in Twin Lakes, Carlton County, Minnesota. She lived with her father, Silas, age 54, and mother, Miranda, age 45. She also lived with her siblings, Albert, 20, James, 17, Lola, 10, Lillie, 8, John, 5, and Percy 2.
