Kenneth Wayne Weeks Sr was born on August 7, 1928 to Martha E (Wendt) Weeks and Clifford Leburn Weeks, and has siblings Betty Jean (Weeks) Vandeveer and Wilma Doris (Weeks) Martin. He married Maryann Elizabeth (Strom) Weeks on July 29, 1950, and they were married until Maryann's death on June 28, 1964. They had children Jerry Lu Weeks, Amy Louise Weeks, Roseann Beth Weeks, and Kenneth Wayne Weeks Jr. He would also marry Reta Jean (McGee) Weeks on October 23, 1964.

In 1928, in the year that Kenneth Wayne Weeks Sr was born, Mickie Mouse was born! He first appeared in Disney's Steamboat Willie, along with Minnie. Although they were in two previous shorts, this was the first to be distributed. Steamboat Willie took advantage of the new technology and was a "talkie" - music was coordinated with the animation. It became the most popular cartoon of its day.
