She married Herbert Oliver Schmidt in October 1953 and they later divorced. They had children Ginger Lee (Schmidt) Brooks, Doris Jean (Schmidt) Dixon, James Russell Schmidt, Merle Schmidt, and Ernestine Schmidt. She married Dee D Martin. Wilma Martin died at age 61 years old on April 18, 1995 in Herington, Dickinson Co County, and was buried on April 22, 1995 at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Herington.
