Kossuth Nightingale 1859 - 1930

Kossuth Nightingale was born in 1859 to John Nightingale and Frances Nightingale ( Phillips, and had siblings Camps Nightingale, Joseph Garibaldi Nightingale, Florence Cadden ( Nightingale, Grace Findlater ( Nightingale, and Maud Florence Cameron ( Nightingale. He married Sarah Anne Nightingale ( Tighe, and died at age 70 years old on December 7, 1930 in Hurlstone Park, NSW Australia. Kossuth Nightingale was buried at Rookwood General Cemeteries Reserve Trust in Rookwood, Auburn City Council County.

In 1859, in the year that Kossuth Nightingale was born, on February 27th, US Congressman Daniel Sickles shot and killed Philip Barton Key - a US. District Attorney and son of Francis Scott Key, writer of the national anthem, for having an affair with his wife. Sickles claimed temporary insanity - the first to do so - and was acquitted.

In 1890, at the age of 31 years old, Kossuth was alive when on June 1st, the U.S. Census Bureau started tabulating census returns with punch cards. Herman Hollerith's "tabulating machine" used punch cards to more quickly compute census information, taking the time to get census results from 8 years in 1880 to 6 years for the 1890 census. Hollerith's company eventually became IBM.
