MILLIONAIRE REUNITED WITH CLEANING-GAL $AVIOR By Clemente Lisi July 29, 2002 | 4:00am A Manhattan woman was reunited with a cleaning woman who lent her $2,000 more than 20 years ago – helping launch her multi-million-dollar business. Leith Yetman was desperately searching for Irene Eschuck, a cleaning woman who gave her the cash in 1982 to keep her computer school, the New York Institute of Business Technology, from closing. The two lost touch in 1984, but were reunited recently after The Post ran a story about Yetman’s search for Eschuck. “I’m so glad to see her again and I thank The Post for helping me find her,” Yetman said. Eschuck, 79, said her daughter Kathleen had shown her the story in The Post. “I thought I would never see her again. I’m glad she’s become a success,” Eschuck said. Yetman said the reunion was “one of the happiest moments” of her life. She started her business school in April 1981, but a year later was in trouble when she couldn’t make her $1,200 weekly payroll and risked going under. Eschuck was making her cleaning rounds one night and found Yetman crying at her desk. After explaining her problem, Yetman recalled, Eschuck took her by the hand and said, “I have $3,000 in the bank. I could lend you some of the money.” Yetman paid back Eschuck double her $2,000 loan. Her school now pulls in $3 million a year.

Leith Eleanor Yetman, born in Kellits, Clarendon, Jamaica passed away on 3/25/11 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Beloved mother of Donovan, Jo-Ann, Kirk, Lori-Anne, Brandon, Samantha & LaFara. Cherished grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin. Family will receive friends at TORREGROSSA & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 2265 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, N.Y. on Wednesday March 30, 2011 from 12 to 3 P.M.

Leith Yetman's school

A photo of Leith Yetman's school on Park Avenue South in NYC. She had two rooms in the Actor's Equity Building and I told her that if she bought my signs the Mayor would be impressed. [I told her I was psychic.] The Mayor showed up unannounced and said that they were the most beautiful signs he had ever seen in a school. She was offered accreditation but she had to keep using that sign maker! Later she opened a three million dollar school and I did all the signs for opening day on Park Avenue South!
