Leonore was a dear friend of mine on Crescent Ave. on Staten Island. She lived two or three houses up the street from me. We were very close but I left the neighborhood and moved to Europe in 1967. When I returned for a visit in 1968, I learned she had been murdered. It was an "unsolved crime." I grieved and prayed for Leonore for many years. I still do. Then, one day in the nineties, a man walked into a police station and confessed to her murder. He said he didn't know her but had driven by her and tried to "pick her up" and when she ignored hem, he pulled out a gun and shot her. He said he was drunk at the time. I've lost contact with the Mussendens. I miss them very much. The three sisters had a life full of tragedy. Leonore had two children. She put her first child up for adoption which was probably a good thing and was working two jobs to support her other child while she lived with her parents, Maria and Adolfo Mussenden,
