She also married Albert Leo Finkenbinder on September 27, 1969, and they were married until Albert's death on March 7, 2002. Lily Finkenbinder died at age 89 years old on December 18, 2010 in Southlake, Tarrant County, TX, and was buried on December 29, 2010 at Weskan Cemetery in Weskan, Wallace County, KS.

    Lily Vay Slaven Penny Finkenbinder was born January 26, 1921 to John and Dora McClung Slaven in Kingston, Arkansas. She enjoyed being a part of a large family. Lily felt the call of God upon her heart in her late teens and attended Colorado Springs Bible College. She received her degree and was top in her class. She and her friends, Gladys Bilbee and Arminta Fletcher, toured the United States both preaching and singing for revivals. Lily married Rev. Harold Penny on September 9, 1953. They had one daughter, Dawn. Harold passed away on Dec.1, 1958. She continued to pastor in Texas and Ohio before becoming Dean of Women at Central Pilgrim College in Bartlesville, OK. After serving in Bartlesville, she met Albert Finkenbinder. They were married in September, 1969. They lived in Syracuse, KS before moving to the Wichita area. As Albert's health began to fail, they moved to the Baptist Retirement Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Following Albert's death, Lily moved to a small home in Bethany, Oklahoma. When her health began to deteriorate, she moved in with her daughter for several months. Dawn and her husband moved to Roanoke, Texas and Lily lived in a beautiful nursing home with people who loved and cared for her. She lived a long, interesting life serving her first love, Jesus Christ. Lily passed away on December 18, 2010 in Southlake, Texas. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn, son-in-law Kevin Griffith and two grandsons, Dustin and Spencer Griffith. Her step-children are Wanda Stallings, Leo, Darl, Arthur, and William Finkenbinder. Her surviving siblings are her brothers Winfield, Frank, Paul, Charles, Lewis and Grant Slaven and her remaining sister, Isabel Smith. Funeral services held Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Western Oaks Church of the Nazarene. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m., December 29, 2010 in Weskan, Kansas.
