Lister Dowbiggin Foster was born in 1904 to Capt. John Dowbiggin Foster and Sarah Elizabeth Clara (Leake) Foster, and had siblings Robert John Leake Foster, Thelma Marie Foster, and Dorothy Foster. Lister Foster married Margaret (Nish) Foster on January 21, 1930 at Scots Church in Victoria Australia, and they were married until Lister's death in 1952.
