Louise Ethel (Schmidt) Gehrke was born on August 5, 1921 in Herington, Dickinson County, Kansas United States to John Louis August Schmidt and Marie Hannah (Brunner) Schmidt, and had siblings Herbert O Schmidt, Betty J (Schmidt) Mathis, and Walter Schmidt. She married Arthur Gustav Gehrke on April 20, 1950 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, and had children Deborah Christine Gehrke and Carl John Gehrke. Louise Gehrke died at age 89 years old on January 20, 2011 in Herington, Dickinson County, KS, and was buried in January 2011 at Saint Johns Lutheran Cemetery in Herington, Dickinson Co County.
