In 1944, in the year that Lynette A Uli was born, on June 22nd, the Servicemen's Readjustment Act of 1944, called the G.I. Bill, was signed into law, pushed through by the veteran's organizations. Benefits provided for veterans to return to school (high school, vocational school, or college), obtain low interest home mortgages and low interest business loans, and (if needed) one year of unemployment insurance. Since most returning vets immediately found work, less than 20% of the unemployment benefits were distributed.

Sturgis Rally - Celebrating 150 Years Of Motorcycles
Next week, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota is holding its 76th annual celebration. People come from all over the United States, and sometimes the world, to rally around their favorite form of transportation - motorcycles. Did you know the first steam motorcycle was built in 1867? Whether it's for touring, policing, racing, fighting a war, or delivering the mail, riding a bike has always just been a whole lot of fun!
