Introduction

Funeral services for Mamie Jo "Granny" Roberts, 77, of Conroe will take place 10 A.M. Thursday, June 15, 2006 at Metcalf Funeral Chapel with Dr. Charles Walton and Rev. Dave Stovall officiating. Interment will follow in Conroe Memorial Park under the direction of Metcalf Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held 5 - 8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Our beloved mother, Granny, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend was born August 13, 1928 in Aransas Pass, TX and passed away on June 12, 2006 in Willis, TX. Granny will be remembered for her love of family, her perfection in keeping her home, her ability to communicate even though she fought for the words, her helpfulness, her hugs, her advice, her storytelling and her genuine love for everyone she met. Her infectious laugh and funny comments will be missed, especially by her grandchildren. Mamie Jo was preceded in death by her husband Ralph R. Roberts in 2001. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Vicki and Johnny Gregson, Willis, TX, her son and daughter-in-law Joe and Melvalyn Roberts, Conroe, TX, and son and daughter-in-law Brad and Suzie Roberts, Willis, TX. Brother; Homer Cavitt, Houma, LA, sisters; Ida Cavitt, Corpus Christi, TX; Dorothy Heptinstall, Round Rock, TX; Helen McEntire, Blanco, TX; Lillian Cavitt, sister-in-law of Grande Junction, CO; Noris and Frances Melde, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, of Bishop, TX; and J.B. Roberts, brother-in-law of Cheraw, SC. Grandchildren are Brandon Gregson, College Station, TX, Barrett Gregson, Conroe, TX, Lindsey Chance and husband Scott, Allen, TX, Justin Roberts, Austin, TX, Joshua Roberts and wife Holly, Conroe, TX and Caleb Roberts, Willis, TX. Great-grandchildren are Kiersten Roberts, and Ben Chance. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are nephews Bruce Melde, Salado, TX, Jeff Melde, Bishop, TX, Jeff and Alan Heptinstall and Darren Lesmeister.
