  • Introduction

    Marcus Lungi was born on September 5th, 1915 in Pennsylvania to Antonio Langia Lungi (1877 - 1956) and Maria Louisa Cumoni (1884 - 1937). Both of his parents were Italy. He had four brothers: Salvatore "Samuel", born 1918; Raymond, born 1919; Louis, born 1921; and Paul, born 1925. Marcus never married and never had children. By 1950, at the age of 34 years old, he reported that he was unable to work. There is a record, from 1951, of his having been arrested for a form of gambling. See Policy Player Fined. He died at the age of 53 in New Haven, Connecticut and is buried in St. Michael Cemetery in Stratford, Fairfield County, Connecticut.

Policy Player Fined
Marcus Lungi, 35, of 95 Catherine Street, pleaded guilty in City yesterday to a charge of policy playing and was fined $10 and given a 30-day suspended jail sentence by Judge Albert L. Coles. Lungi was arrested last Friday by Lieutenant William J. Halpin following a complaint. He had "numbers" slips in his possession at the time of his arrest, Lieutenant Halpin said.
