She was in a relationship with Laurence Smith, and had children John Smith, Patrick James Smith, Patrick James Smith, Mary Annie (Smith) Baker, Lawrence Owen Smith, Laurence Owen Smith, Thomas John Smith, Francis Alphonsus Roth Smith, and Frank Smith. Margaret Smith died at age 75 years old on December 30, 1939 at Mena House in East Melbourne, VIC Australia, and was buried at Brighton General Cemetery in Caulfield South.
