Mary (O'Farrell) Ryan of Geelong, Greater Geelong City County, VIC Australia was born in 1859 in Ireland to Patrick O'Farrell and Mary (Morrissey) O'Farrell. She had siblings Margaret (O'Farrell) Smith, Winifred O'Farrell, Thomas O'Farrell, Bridget Lahiff ( O'Farrell, and James O'Farrell. She married Edmond "Edward" Ryan, and died at age 49 years old on August 15, 1909 in South Geelong. Mary Ryan was buried on August 17, 1909 at Eastern Cemetery in Geelong.

    The Geelong Advertiser, 17 August 1909. RYAN.- On the 15th August, 1909, at her residence, Foster-street, South Geelong, Mary, the dearly beloved wife of Edmond Ryan, aged 50 years. ( Requiescat in Pace ). The funeral of the late Mrs. Mary Ryan, wife of Mr. Edmond Ryan, of Foster-street, South Geelong, took place on Tuesday afternoon, when her remains were laid to rest in the Roman Catholic section of the Eastern Cemetery. The esteem in which the deceased was held was testified by the large number who attended to pay the last tribute of respect. The bearers and two mourning coaches were followed by a long line of conveyances. The pall-bearers were Messrs. J. Moran, P. Stokes, P. O'Halloran, J. Farrell, J. McNamara, D. Edwards, L. Smith and P. Hogan.
