    The Shepparton Advertiser. 12th August 1947. MRS. MARY ANN ADAMS. The death took place in the Mooroopna Hospital on Saturday night of Mrs Mary Ann Adams, of Northgate- street, Mooroopna at the age of 87 years. The deceased was the mother of Mrs. H. Bolton of Mooroopna, Minnie, William, Sidney and John.

Previously, workdays would consist of 10 to 16 hours a day - 6 days a week. It would take years before the 8 hour workday became common practice - and longer before it became a law.
