Mary J. Bowers, age 89, of Huntington, died at 1:40 p.m. Monday (November 3, 2014) at Oakbrook Village in Huntington. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. Friday (November 7, 2014) at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday (November 8, 2014) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Mark Hoffer officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Huntington County. Preferred memorials are to The Hospice Group of Indianapolis, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN. Mary was born May 27, 1925 in Huntington County, the daughter of Bert and Bernice (Snoke) Kline. She graduated from Union Township High School in 1943. She married Samuel H. Bowers on May 5, 1943 in Huntington, and he preceded her in death on March 29, 1982. She and her husband owned and operated Bowers Antiques in Huntington for 17 years. She retired in 1984 from Huntington County Community School Corporation after 16 years as a custodian. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Huntington, and she loved to crochet rag rugs. Mary is survived by three sons - Michael (Carol) Bowers and Alan (Angela) Bowers, and Kent (Nancy) Bowers two daughters - Kathy (Terry) Wilkinson and Shelley (Richard) Paschal, nine grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Her parents and her husband precede her in death.
