She was in a relationship with George Payne, and had children Gipsy May Payne, Blanche Lavinia (Payne) Smith, and Maud Phyllis Hall ( Payne. Mary Payne died at age 77 years old on June 25, 1932 in Alexandra.

Death of Mrs. Payne, Senior. The death took place on Saturday night last of Mrs. Mary Jane Payne, relict of the late Mr. George Payne, of "Summerview" Alexandra. She had been in failing health for some time.Mrs. Payne was one of the 'early' pioneers of the district, and with her late husband took an active interest in all affairs that helped to advance the district. She was known far and wide, and had a wide circle of friends. She was married at St. Peter's, Eastern Hill,on March 18, 1872.Her husband died on July 5, 1926. Mrs. Payne was the mother of a large family of 19 ( five of whom died in infancy). Of the family ten are living- seven sons and three daughters. Mrs. Payne was 79 years of age, and a sister of Mr. George Payne, of Aitken Street Alexandra.ADVERTISEMENT BYLooking for more information?
