    mary was my grandmother. and we made the best cinnamon rolls together. she always gave me my vitamins. we played old maid, and bingo whenever i wanted to which was always. I was her joe. Everyday of my childhood, i wanted to see my grandma. I never went to bed without a bath, and a prayer to GOD. Love is the one word that i can say describes her. We fed the squirrels, the birds, any and all animals. I love you grandma. See you soon beside god.

In 1921, in the year that Mary v Underwood was born, on November 11th, the first burial was held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. The body of an unknown soldier - selected by Army Sgt. Edward F. Younger who was highly decorated for valor and received the Distinguished Service Cross in "The Great War" - was brought back from France (World War 1) and placed in the newly completed tomb. President Warren G. Harding officiated at the interment ceremonies.

In 1940, by the time she was 19 years old, on November 5th, President Franklin Roosevelt was elected to a third term, defeating Wendell Willkie of Indiana (a corporate lawyer). Roosevelt running for a third term was controversial. But the U.S. was emerging from the Great Recession and he promised that he would not involve the country in any foreign war (which of course changed when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor). Roosevelt defeated Willkie in the popular vote by 54.7 to 44.8% and in the Electoral College 449 to 82.
