She was married to Harry William Streep Jr. in 1946 in Summit, Union County, New Jersey, and they were together until Mary's death on September 29, 2001 in New York City, New York County. She had children Mary Louise Streep, Harry William Streep III, and Dana David Streep. Mary Streep was buried on October 2, 2001 at Somerset Hills Memorial Park & Chapel Mausoleum 95 Mt Airy Rd, in Bernards, Somerset County, NJ.
